The connectors used in the Vitaport systems are high quality gold plated to ensure the best contact performance. To make sure that even after a longer period of use the contact quality and recording performance are guaranteed, a regular cleaning of the contacts of the connectors is required.

Depending on the frequency of use and the environmental conditions, TEMEC suggests to at least inspect the contacts each time before using and to clean the contacts after each 10th time of usage or more often if they get dirty. Cleaning should also be performed if you find inexplicable intermittent "flat lines" or "noise" in your recorded signals.

Following connectors should be cleaned:

• The 50 pole recorder multi connector(s) of the recorder module(s).
• The 50 pole multi connector of the patchpanel (miniature headbox).

How to clean
Cleaning of the connector contact should be done with care and only with pure cleaning alcohol. Use a clean toothbrush with some alcohol to clean the contacts carefully but thoroughly.
